| dc.description.abstract | Ως ένα από τα πιο σύνθετα σύγχρονα αντικείμενα στις κοινωνικές επιστήμες ο Τρίτος Τομέας περιγράφεται και προσδιορίζεται από έννοιες που έχουν εισέλθει δυναμικά στο δημόσιο διάλογο κατά τα τέλη του 20ου αιώνα: Μη κερδοσκοπικός - μη κυβερνητικός τομέας, τρίτο σύστημα, κοινωνική οικονομία, κοινωνία των πολιτών, εθελοντισμός, κοινωνικές επιχειρήσεις και άλλοι συγγενείς όροι και έννοιες που χρησιμοποιούνται συνήθως ως αυτονόητοι, παρότι σε μεγάλο βαθμό είναι αμφίσημοι και ασαφείς. Τις τελευταίες δεκαετίες ο Τρίτος Τομέας προτείνεται ως νέα διέξοδος για την αντιμετώπιση της διαρκώς αυξανόμενης ανεργίας και στις δυο πλευρές του Ατλαντικού και για την προώθηση της κοινωνικής συνοχής με προσπάθειες καταπολέμησης του κοινωνικού αποκλεισμού. Η εξασφάλιση εργασίας αποτελεί το κλειδί για την ανάπτυξη και ο Τρίτος Τομέας θεωρείται ότι αποτελεί δυνητική πηγή απασχόλησης ιδιαίτερα για τα άτομα που βρίσκονται ή κινδυνεύουν από κοινωνικό και εργασιακό αποκλεισμό. Η εργασία αυτή στοχεύει να ανιχνεύσει, να καταγράψει και να αιτιολογήσει τους τρόπους με τους οποίους ο Τρίτος Τομέας συμβάλει στη δημιουργία ευκαιριών απασχόλησης. Η ανάπτυξη και επέκταση του Tρίτου Tομέα μπορεί να αποτελέσει διέξοδο από τη μάστιγα της ανεργίας και να λειτουργήσει αποτελεσματικά για την ενδυνάμωση της δημοκρατικής συμμετοχής των πολιτών. Η επιτυχής έκβαση του εγχειρήματος για έναν αποτελεσματικό Τρίτο Τομέα και στη δημιουργία ευκαιριών απασχόλησης απαιτεί ανθρώπους με διάθεση προσφοράς, γνώση και θέληση να ακούσουν. Όπως έλεγε ο Ντοστογέφσκι, «ο καθένας από μας είναι υπεύθυνος για το κάθε τι ενώπιον όλων». | el |

| dc.description.abstracttranslated | One of the most contemporary, modern and at the same time complex and under research themes of the Social Sciences is the Third Sector', which can be defined and described by concepts and words, which also have been introduced dynamically into the public dialogue at the end of the 20th century, such as: 'non-profit' – 'non-governmental sector', 'third system', 'social economy', 'society of citizens', 'volunteering', 'social economy' and 'social enterprises', and other relative terms and concepts, that are being used often as self-implicit, even though to a large extent they are vague, dubious, questionable, and debatable. Over the past decades, it can be pointed out that the Third Sector can be suggested as the new way-out, the alternative solution that can deal efficiently and effectively – therefore successfully - with unemployment, which constantly increases in both sides of the Atlantic, as well as the advancement and the promotion of social cohesion, by performing continuous attempts of eliminating social exclusion. The finding of a job position and the securement of employment is the key of development and growth, whilst the Third Sector can be considered as the potential source of employment, particularly for people who currently are or will be in danger of suffering in the future from social and work exclusion. Such employment aims to detect, write down and justify all the ways that the Third Sector employs and practices to contribute in the creation and development of work opportunities. The development and the extension of the Third Sector can constitute simultaneously the tool, the cure and the exit from the “plague” of unemployment, and eventually operate effectively for strengthening further the social engagement, the democratic participation of all citizens and their (social) empowerment. The successful outcome of such attempt for having an effective Third Sector and for creating numerous work opportunities and job placements depends on specific prerequisites and conditions: it is essential to have people, who have the desire and the will to offer and contribute to the society and its members, and to have people who have the knowledge and will to listen.
