The complex phenomenon that mergers and acquisitions represent has attracted substantial interest from a variety of management disciplines over the past 30 years. Three primary streams of enquiry can be identified within the strategic and behavioural literatures which focus on the issues of strategic fit, organizational fit and the acquisition process itself. However, in parallel to these research advances, the failure rates of mergers and acquisitions have remained consistently high. In Greece, the phenomenon of restructuring shows peculiarities in comparison to most European countries, which are related to both the structure of the Greek economy, and the lack of integrated planning before the implementation of the restructuring, and the deficit of effective social dialogue. As a result of these, measures and management policies of the phenomenon in order to limit the social costs are very limited. It is clear that the effects of restructuring on working relations and on the employment are very significant. Maintaining a job, even with favorable conditions, it is not always feasible. Often, a business reorganization and transformation with the form of acquisition and merger-economic or other reasons lead to job losses and downsizing, which most often takes the group character. Restructuring still bring in Jeopardy workers’ strong rights and raise concerns regarding the form and continued employment in the merged company. Experience shows that in our country, mergers lead to reduced employment and deregulation of labor law, which is usually manifested by phenomena such as substitution of paid employment with freelance work (outsourcing), flexible working conditions, current rates labor problems in the way of employee representation and general insecurity for workers. So as we can understand it’s really crucial that before and after the restrauction there must be a plan that will have advantages for all the involved parties.el
