Abstract
The Syrian Civil War in 2011 emerged the refugee issue in the Mediterranean region, especially in south-eastern. In 2014, the civil war and violent actions expanded in the country and a significant number of people decided to immigrate. These influxes have reinforced the complications that countries are facing, such us economical or security. EU took a number of measures to reduce and manage the refugee inflows. The most critical issue that is discussing in the EU is the refugee crisis and the outspread of terrorism. So, the central argument is how efficient can be EU’s strategy in order to encounter the crisis. How effective can be the European Union’s policy in order to overcome the refugee issue in the Mediterranean region and to host the refugees? The method that is going to be used is through primary and secondary sources that are based on official data by institutions and governments in the Mediterranean. Subsequently, via international relations field, it is important to note EU’s role in this crisis and if EU can exploit in the best way its capabilities to find a solution.
