Abstract
The leadership of the International Olympic Committee since the revival of the Olympic Games, advocated the separation of the organization from political and social considerations. In this paper we will attempt to highlight that over the 60 years period, from the Nazi Germany until the collapse of the Soviet Union, this belief was a mantle of propaganda, national recriminations, social demands and political aspirations, which made the Olympic Movement, a field of global policy and social protests, not as coincidental consequence but as conscious repeated choice of the actors.
