Η καταγραφή των απόψεων των γονέων αναφορικά με την συμπερίληψη έγινε μέσω των ερωτηματολογίων των Leyser και Kirk (2004), «Parental Attitudes Regarding Inclusion of Children with Disabilities in Greek Education Settings», και για την επικοινωνία – συνεργασία γονέων και εκπαιδευτικών μέσω της κλίμακας συνεργασίας «Parent- Teacher Relationship Scale–PTRS» (Vickers & Minke, 1995).

dc.description.abstracttranslated | In recent years, the effort to include students with any form of disability in general education has been the goal of all the educational systems. A key factor in achieving the previous goal is the role of the parents. Through the research, the views of parents who have children with autism spectrum disorders were investigated concerning the inclusive education, cooperation and communication with the school, as well as the benefits deriving from the inclusion of children in general education. The data were collected through electronic questionnaires in the form of Google Forms. The recording of parents' view regarding inclusion was realized through the questionnaires of Leyser and Kirk (2004), "Parental Attitudes Regarding Inclusion of Children with Disabilities in Greek Education Settings", and concerning the communication - cooperation between parents and teachers, through the cooperation scale " Parent-Teacher Relationship Scale–PTRS" (Vickers & Minke, 1995). The research sample consisted of 101 parents, mainly mothers, with children who have been diagnosed with an autistic spectrum disorder, aged 40-48, included in the registers of the Associations of Parents of the regional units of Central Greece. Parents of boys, aged 7-12, who study in schools of general education with parallel support. The results of the research showed that parents have a positive attitude towards the inclusion of their children in general education. They express doubts about whether general education teachers have the knowledge and skills needed to integrate their children smoothly into the classroom and to adapt their teaching to the children's needs, and they seem disturbed by the attitude of parents of typically developing children. They recognize the multiple benefits of inclusion and they wish for systematic communication and collaboration with teachers as they observe an improvement in the emotional, behavioral and learning condition of their children. The factors that influence the formation of attitudes are mainly related to the gender of the parent and the age of the child, with mothers of young children presenting a more positive attitude.
