dc.description.abstract	Η διατριβή συνδέει το διεπιστημονικό αντικείμενο της Κοινωνικής Πολιτικής με την επιστήμη της Ιστορίας με εμπειρικό πεδίο αναφοράς τη μεσοπολεμική μικρασιατική καταστροφή εστιάζοντας στις πολυσύνθετες επιπτώσεις της αθρόας άφιξης των Μικρασιατών προσφύγων στην Ελλάδα. Η χώρα βίωσε μία ταραχώδη πολεμική δεκαετία από την ανάφλεξη των Βαλκανικών πολέμων έως την κατάρρευση του Μικρασιατικού μετώπου. Οι Έλληνες μαστίζονταν από φτώχεια, ανεργία, αρρώστια και πολιτικά πάθη, όταν προέκυψε η άναρχη έλευση τους υπέρογκου αναλογικά αριθμού προσφύγων. Σκοπός της μελέτης είναι να διερευνηθούν τα πολυσχιδή ζητήματα που αντιμετώπισαν οι Μικρασιάτες πρόσφυγες κατά την ενσωμάτωση τους στην Ελλάδα με γεωγραφικό πεδίο αναφοράς την Πελοπόννησο. Μέσα από την ερευνητική αξιοποίηση των Γενικών Αρχείων του κράτους (κυρίως της Πάτρας και της Καλαμάτας), διεθνών αρχείων (του Πανεπιστημίου Stanford) και του Τύπου, προκύπτει ότι η κοινωνική ενσωμάτωση των περιορισμένων συγκριτικά προσφυγικών ροών στην Πελοπόννησο αντιμετώπισε δυσεπίλυτα προβλήματα μόνιμης στέγασης, διανομής κλήρων, εύρεσης εργασίας και κοινωνικών σχέσεων με τους γηγενείς. Μείζονα προβλήματα δημόσιας υγείας εν μέρει αντιμετωπίστηκαν με τη συμβολή διεθνών ανθρωπιστικών οργανώσεων. Η έρευνα επιβεβαιώνει ότι η συμβολή των διεθνών οργανώσεων στη σχεδιασμένη θεσμοθέτηση κρατικών δομών υγείας είναι αξιοσημείωτη. Παράλληλα, το ελληνικό κράτος συνεργάστηκε με διεθνείς φορείς (όπως η Κ.τ.Ε.) δημιουργώντας την κρίσιμη Επιτροπή Αποκατάστασης Προσφύγων που ήρθε αντιμέτωπη με μεγάλες προκλήσεις αλλά και όχι λίγες αντιδράσεις. Η μελέτη εξετάζει εν γένει τις σχέσεις του ελληνικού κράτους με εγχώριους και διεθνείς φορείς που συνέδραμαν στο εγχείρημα της προσφυγικής αποκατάστασης και σταδιακής ενσωμάτωσης περιλαμβάνοντας τη συνεισφορά των προσφυγικών συλλόγων που συστάθηκαν εκείνη την εποχή και αναδείχθηκαν στην προσφυγική φωνή απέναντι στις κυβερνητικές δράσεις.	el

dc.description.abstracttranslated	This thesis links the interdisciplinary subject of Social Policy with the science of History with the empirical field of reference/scope being the interbellum period of the Asia Minor Catastrophe, focusing on the complex implications of the massive arrival of Asia Minor refugees in Greece. The country experienced a tumultuous decade of warfare from the outbreak of the Balkan wars to the collapse of the Asia Minor front. When the disorderly arrival of a disproportionate number of refugees occurred, Greeks were being plagued by poverty, unemployment, disease, and political passions. The purpose of this study is to explore the multi-faceted issues that the Asia Minor refugees faced during their integration in Greece, with the Peloponnese as the geographical reference point/field. Through the use of the General State Archives (mainly of Patras and Kalamata), international archives (of Stanford University) and the Press, it emerges that the social integration of the comparatively limited refugee flows in the Peloponnese faced intractable problems when it came to permanent housing, distribution of lots, finding work and social relations with the locals. Major public health problems were partly addressed with the contribution of international humanitarian organisations. The research confirms that the contribution of international organisations to the planned institutionalisation of state health structures is considerable. At the same time, the Greek state cooperated with international bodies (such as the League of Nations) by creating the crucially important Committee for the Rehabilitation of Refugees, which was faced with great challenges and a lot of opposition. The study examines in general the relations of the Greek state with domestic and international bodies that contributed to the project of refugee rehabilitation and the gradual integration of those refugees, including the contribution of the refugee associations that were established at that time and emerged as the voice of refugees against governmental actions.	el
