dc.description.abstractΗ παρούσα εργασία πραγματεύεται τη διαμόρφωση και εφαρμογή πολιτικών safeguarding στον αθλητισμό, εστιάζοντας στις θεσμικές, κοινωνικές και πολιτισμικές διαστάσεις που επηρεάζουν την προστασία των ανηλίκων στο αθλητικό περιβάλλον. Με αφετηρία τη διαπιστωμένη διεθνώς ανάγκη για ασφαλείς και ενδυναμωτικούς χώρους για παιδιά και νέους, η μελέτη επιχειρεί συγκριτική αποτύπωση των πλαισίων safeguarding σε τρεις διαφορετικές χώρες: το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, την Αυστραλία και την Ελλάδα. Αξιοποιώντας μια ποιοτική, συγκριτική μεθοδολογική προσέγγιση, η εργασία βασίζεται σε ανάλυση θεσμικών εγγράφων, πολιτικών, επιστημονικής βιβλιογραφίας και ερευνητικών αναφορών. Η επιλογή των χωρών έγινε με κριτήρια ωριμότητας του θεσμικού πλαισίου, γεωπολιτικής ποικιλίας και διαθεσιμότητας δεδομένων. Η ανάλυση κάθε περίπτωσης ακολουθεί κοινή θεματική δομή: ιστορικο-νομικό πλαίσιο, θεσμοί και οργανισμοί εφαρμογής, εργαλεία εκπαίδευσης και αξιολόγησης, καθώς και οι κύριες προκλήσεις που αναδεικνύονται. Τα ευρήματα καταδεικνύουν ότι, ενώ κοινές αρχές διατρέχουν το safeguarding διεθνώς, οι τρόποι ενσωμάτωσής του επηρεάζονται από την πολιτική βούληση, τις κοινωνικές ευαισθησίες και τις διοικητικές δυνατότητες κάθε χώρας. Το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο προβάλλει ως πρότυπο θεσμικής εδραίωσης, η Αυστραλία ως παράδειγμα οργανωτικής εναρμόνισης και πολιτειακής συνεργασίας, ενώ η Ελλάδα παρουσιάζει χαρακτηριστικά καθυστερημένης θεσμικής ανταπόκρισης αλλά με πρόσφατες εξελίξεις. Η εργασία καταλήγει με συγκεκριμένες προτάσεις για ενίσχυση των πολιτικών safeguarding, υπογραμμίζοντας την ανάγκη για διατομεακή συνεργασία, εκπαίδευση, λογοδοσία και πολιτισμική αλλαγή στον αθλητισμό.el
dc.description.abstracttranslatedThis study examines the formulation and implementation of safeguarding policies in sport, focusing on the institutional, social, and cultural dimensions that influence child protection within athletic environments. Starting from the globally recognized need to ensure safe and empowering spaces for children and young people, the research undertakes a comparative analysis of safeguarding frameworks in three different countries: the United Kingdom, Australia, and Greece. Employing a qualitative and comparative methodological approach, the study draws on the analysis of institutional documents, policy frameworks, academic literature, and empirical reports. Country selection was based on criteria such as the maturity of safeguarding policies, geopolitical diversity, and data availability. Each national case follows a common analytical structure, including legal and historical context, implementing institutions, educational tools and evaluation mechanisms, and the main challenges identified. The findings reveal that, while common principles underpin safeguarding practices globally, their integration is shaped by the political commitment, social awareness, and administrative capacity of each country. The United Kingdom emerges as a model of institutional consolidation, Australia exemplifies organizational alignment and federal cooperation, while Greece displays a pattern of delayed legislative engagement, albeit with promising recent developments. The study concludes with concrete policy recommendations to strengthen safeguarding in sport, emphasizing the need for intersectoral collaboration, structured training, public accountability, and broader cultural transformation. These findings highlight that safeguarding is not a static achievement, but an ongoing process of reform and integration, closely linked to the governance culture and social responsibility of the sport ecosystem.el
